Dakota Historic Resources

Dakota Historic Resources offers a variety of services to South Dakota communities wishing to re-create their regional history.

We currently work within the 1750 to 1850 time frame, however some of the workshop's concepts could be used for other time periods however.

Dakota Historic Resources Workshops Include

• How to start and run a Historic Festival or Reenactment
• How to start a local reenactment group
• How to develop a "Persona" for reenactment services
• Lewis & Clark Programs and Demonstrations Uniforms, Mapping, Equipment, & Trail Life
• Lewis & Clark Costuming & Rental
• Fur Trade Programs and Demonstrations Frontier Pottery
• Native and European School Programs & Event Presentations

Workshops start at $500 plus Travel expenses. Programs start at $100 half day $200 full day November - April. Travel costs are $400 a day on summer weekends

"Rent a Reenactment"

Rent a reenactment services include costumes, training & programs for about $1000 plus travel. Your community's people fill the costumes.

NOTE: Workshops are only available December through April.
